An ugly dehumanizing lifestyle portrayed well enough to hit hard under the belt. The actor playing Darnell the pimp did it realistically enough to want to personally shoot him yourself. I doubt that the states of prostitution and trafficking were over dramatized. The older I get the more I believe greed to be the root of all evil. If only the perps would watch this movie and feel what most viewers do. I'm so glad at least the actors could walk away. There are too many out there that can't and don't.

I really have never seen a film get straight to the point so quickly and efficiently. I believe you ALL understood the assignment! Bravo I was moved, I was angry about the scholarship and nobody giving a damn about how/why this student felt helpless and hopeless that’s reality for our Blackest students- no guidance from Academic counselor/ advisers, when his grades started slipping, where’s the tutor and someone that gives af! This film shows all that to the multitude that has experience not having enough resources to live. I was mad, I was frustrated and I was sad and I’m still wanting to change some things for the student.

The film does a great job in developing the varied cast of characters. The characters are complex and the film often makes it difficult for the audience to make a clear black or white judgment on each. I found myself applauding certain characters and then feeling disgusted by their behaviors in other circumstances, and vise-versa. Unfortunately story lines on display are not isolated events; we see dramatizations of struggles that happen daily to millions of Americans and people around the world.
